About BBA

We are an organization of Bangladesh specializing in the assessment and treatment of adults & Child with neurological impairment using the Bobath concept.
All BBA members are completed graduation from the medicine faculty of Dhaka University. All members were completed the basic and first advance of International Bobath instructor Training Association (IBITA) February 2024.
Members of BBA comply with the bye-laws, rule and regulations of the International Bobath Instructor Training Association (IBITA).

Vision

Throughout the Bangladesh, adults with neurological dysfunction will be assured of the services of an interdisciplinary team trained in neurological rehabilitation, originating in the Bobath concept and developed in accordance with current knowledge.

Mission

1. BBA plan, organise and run courses in Bangladesh to train physical, occupational and speech therapists, medical doctors and registered nurses in the assessment and treatment of adults with lesions of the central nervous system.

2. BBA ensure that their teaching and clinical practice is founded upon and reflects current understanding of motor control, neural and muscle plasticity, motor learning and biomechanics, integrated within the Bobath concept.

3. BBA recognize the importance of evidence-based practice and evaluate the research literature critically in order to implement such practice.

4. BBA strive constantly to improve their own standards of clinical expertise and to impart their knowledge and skills.

5. BBA play an active role in the training of new Bobath therapist.

6. BBA are aware of the need for research into the theoretical assumptions and clinical outcomes of treatment, and undertake to publish their findings.

7. BBA accept their role in education and empowerment of the patient, family and other caregivers.

8. BBA promote at all times the vision, mission and objectives of BBA, in their clinical and teaching practice as well as in interaction with other professionals, with national and international organisations and with the public.

9. BBA raise awareness about stroke risk factor and other condition of adult neurological conditions.

10. BBA observe the day of adult neurological conditions.

11. BBA cooperate with the national professional association and Govt., Ngo’s, and specialized hospital.

12. Strong collaboration with National Institute of Neuroscience Hospital(NINH).
